Your subscription has been restored
Thank you Substack, thank you Stripe.
If you are a Sharpe Two paid subscriber, you must have received an email from Substack saying that your subscription was cancelled.
You can safely ignore it.
A few words on what happened. When I started writing on Substack two years ago, the account was connected to a Singaporean Stripe account, which matched my place of residency at the time. Today, I tried to connect Substack to my new Stripe account, linked to where I now live. Simple operation, right? Turns out, it was not.
In the process, every paid subscription got cancelled, along with the automatic email you received a few minutes ago.
No harm done. I have manually restored access for all paid subscribers, matching the remaining length of their subscriptions:
All monthly subscribers have access to the newsletter until January 30th, 2026.
All yearly subscribers who used the discount have access until December 30th, 2026.
All yearly subscribers who subscribed earlier in the year retain access until the end of their original subscription period.
When that period comes to an end, there will be no automatic renewal, as Substack did not pass your credit card details to the new Stripe account. If you wish to continue reading, you will therefore need to manually resubscribe to the newsletter.
I corrected things as quickly as I could, but some mistakes may have occurred. If you notice anything odd, please email me and I will fix it promptly.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and wish you all to keep enjoying the end of year break and celebration.
Ksander
